THE CHARACTERS

MAGGIE CAMPION
Played by Shayelin Martin
13 years old. Shy, smart, snarky, and unsure of herself. She's experiencing her first love, a move to a new place, and the discovery that she has synesthesia.

RUSSELL CAMPION
Played by Patrick McKenna
Maggie and Evie's dad. Equal parts gently eccentric and deeply loving, he runs a community theatre and directs a rapidly devolving production of "The Pirates of Penzance."

GIL
Played by Colin Mochrie
Gil is the family's handyman-turned-exterminator. A colourful oddball and Vietnam vet, his mind — if it may be called that — is stuck firmly back in the '70s. He has no prior exterminating experience, but he does have a secret, crucial hidden talent.

HELEN CAMPION
Played by Tania Webb
Helen is Maggie and Evie's mom, a university professor whose job prompts the family's move to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She leads Maggie through the wilds of first love as best she can.

TRAVIS
Played by Steven He
Travis is a kindhearted astronomy grad student who stars as Frederic in Russell's production of "The Pirates of Penzance." Maggie falls head-over-heels in love with him. He is the one who nicknames her "Magnetosphere."

WENDY
Played by Mikayla Kong
Wendy becomes Maggie's best friend after Maggie moves to Sault Ste. Marie. As Maggie deals with her first love, Wendy grapples with her own set of complicated feelings toward Maggie. She is the truest of friends.

MS. DEERING
Played by Debra McGrath
Ms. Deering is Maggie and Wendy's art teacher. Perceptive and kind, she is the first person to realize Maggie has synesthesia.

EVIE CAMPION
Played by Zooey Schneider
Evie is Maggie's mischievous little sister. She is accompanied everywhere by her favourite doll, Captain Cassiopeia, Space Explorer, who may or may not have a mind of her own.

CAPTAIN CASSIOPEIA, SPACE EXPLORER
Voiced by Tara Strong
Captain Cassiopeia is Evie's beloved space-babe doll. She is also the voice of Maggie’s insecurities.

JESSICA
Played by Jordyn Gillis
Jessica is the Grade 7 queen of mean, who has it in for Maggie and Wendy in particular. As all mean girls must be, she is accompanied by her two henchwomen, Courtney (Avery O’Brien) and Brittany (Abigail Yaw).
